trying to get my old 6 volt system up and runing and would like to keep it org, the guy i bought it from 3 years ago just had a 12 volt battery he charged up and used till it ran down then charged it again,it has all the orginal parts,gen,regulator 8n 10505--c my question is how can i check the regulator to see if it is ok?i dont know if the 12 volt system has damaged it,it did have a in line voltage drop set up for the 12 volt,i have rewired it back to 6 volt set up with diagram from nseries.com gen will not motor so i have to get it rebuilt but i would like to see if i can check out the reg first,thanks ok bill.

Bill..... ..compared to gennys, voltage regulator are less than robust. Take BOTH yer 6v genny and voltage regulator in to yer rebuilder. He should be more skilled at checkin' them out together..... ..Dell
