Operation 8N: bent lift linkage arm - a problem?

Okay, I need opinions here... The long thin arm that runs from the position control lever down to the pump valves appears to have a slight bend in it. Also, the rear differential casting had a bulge in it at the rear of the opening where the lift cylinder cover sits. Seems like I read something here that that's a symptom of the lift getting bumped up against the stop or something.

So the question is: do I need to straighten the linkage arm, or is it supposed to be like that? I already ground the bulge in the casting down flat, BTW.

Thanks for your input,

es

What causes the arm to bend like that?

Tatanka..... ..thats the hy-trol sword. NOT supposed to be bent. It controls the hydraulic pump valve for uppsies'n'downsies. It usually gitts bent from carrying a heavy implement in air and driving FAST over rough bouncy ground. Yeah, it can be straightened and should be..... ...Dell

as long as you can adjust it to work it's not a problem. To straighten it you just put it on a block of wood and hammer on it, it's soft and will bend back easily.
Now, what you got there in your picture looks good, here's a bent one... Yes we straightened it out and it works perfectly. We also bought Zane's adjustment jig, and got it adjusted correct the very first try.
