Guess some of us are in the same boat!!! That gas is costing us and we could use the money for other things!!! Been in and out mostly in the garage door business for the last 25 years...Took time out and did 4 years in the Navy''Got out of the door business that time cuz housing was in a slump..... Went back to garage doors after the Navy...If things dont improve before the end of the summer(dont think they will) I am out of the Garage door business and I wont be back again!!! Think ill get my CDL and drive long haul...steady work till we run out of diesel...

I drive my Ford Super Duty F-250 and diesel is killing me. I also am about to start another into college. My youngest is going to Colorado for his Summer trip with the boy Scouts and that was pretty expensive mostly due to fuel costs as well.

I am putting my 2003 Mustang Cobra (other toy) up for sale to try to make ends meet.

The good thing is I can spend days cleaning up some old rusty part and be perfectly content (and not spend any money). So - life is good!

I have it painted all the way back to the differential housing. I got the guages in place and the wiring harness in, installed the "Just Like Original" spark plug wires a day or so back (those are NICE). I had to do some "farmerizing" on the radiator mounting plates to get the radiator mounted on the axle support - but it is now in place and the hoses put on. I am currently painting my oil filter canister and air cleaner and then I will be ready to "attempt" to fire it up for the first time.

Next projects: start engine and evaluate/tweak, paint differential section, wheels (front and back). Then it is on to the sheet metal.

I have been going real slow due to money constraints as well as several busy family things going on around the house. I am in no hurry anyway on this one. I will try to update my photo log on my website soon - it is way behind.

Thanks for the compliment - although it is not 100% acurate (I can not afford the $500 original small generator) I think it is coming along nicely. That generator you see has a brand new NOS field coils and armature in it, and a NOS adjustable rate end cap and of course a full rebuild kit in it. The only thing original is the case and pulley. While it is not original it motors fast and smoothly like no other I have seen before.

I am actually enjoying stretching this project out and taking my time on it. I am making fewer mistakes and able to spend much more time on every system.
