Finally got my 'N going after over a year of rebuild...good to hear it running again after sitting in a barn for over 15 years.Got it started by towing, unfortunately it wouldn't turn over with the starter, like the battery was almost dead. (It's not, brand new, and I've checked the charge on it.) Could my starter be sucking up so much "juice" in trying to turn itself over that it doesn't have enough left to crank the engine? Remember this thing sat for 15 years, I blew it out (lots of crud in there) and it seemed to run fine by itself. In addition, the gear on the starter which wratchets in to engage the ring gear...should this retract again to it's "rest" position when power is cut to the starter? Or does it need the ring gear spinning faster to "kick" it back out? I did notice that once I put power to the starter, it engages with the ring gear and stays that way. (Maybe another reason why it's so hard to crank?) Thanks in advance for any help you have.
