I am trying to replace the seal on my PTO shaft and can't figure out how to remove the overidding coupler ! I have removed the entire PTO shaft and it does not appear that I can do anything from the inside end . From the outside it only has 2 grease fittings 180 gegrees apart , nothing else . I removed the grease fitting and can see that there is a hole that goes straight thru from one grease fitting to the other . I can also see that there are 2 slots inside , also 180 degrees apart , that I can get a screw driver into , but it doesn't seem to do anything . I have tried 2 screwdrivers , 1 in each slot , taping the screwdrivers etc ... but I can't seem to get the couple off . If you pull on the coupler it does move out a little but then stops frimly and it will not move past that point . I know it must me something simple but I am stumppppp ed . As usual any help will be greatly appreciated !
Alan

there should be a pin that you need to drive out where you can see through grease fittings. The coupler should come off then...Mike

Mike.... I can stick a long skinny screwdriver right thru the 2 grease fitting holes . There doesn't seem to be a pin there ...!
Thanks

It's not a solid pin. They are hollow in the center,Unfortunatly I cannot remember what they are called, Just take a punch slightly larger than the hole you put the screwdriver through and tap out with a hammer. Then the coupler should come off...Mike

ROLL PIN or sometimes a spring pin. Mike is correct, use a straight punch, large nail with no point, something that just fits the greese hole....got to be long enuff to go all the way thru both greese fittings, don't loose it when it comes out!!!

Be sure to re-install the ORC when you get your PTO shaft re-installed.
