I'm about to buy a 60 inch Bush Hog finish mower, is ORC required?? I currently use an ORC with a 5 foot rotary cutter.

REBO, For safety reasons, the answer is most definitely,Yes. The physics of a finishing mower are the same as your rotary mower. Might save you from running into a fence, barn, shed,or even something worse. Good luck and safe tractorin.....Fred

Fred, You beat Dell to the Pulpit to expound on the virtues of the ORC!!!! Bg doesn't even have the Audacity to do that without at least paying tribute to the Right Reverend Dell of Our Lady of the Over-running Coupler as to its safety import and his contribution to its Championing! Upstart..... .....

Ron, I apologize, what else can I say except that I'm new to the Board and I didn't know any better. But I've been reading the Board just long enough to know that Dell "IS" the Safety Preacher and I'll publically acknowlege this as a fact. A safety desciple....Fred

Amen brother Fred! You have sufficiently atoned for treading on Reverend Dells ground in my opinion but we have yet to hear from the Soothsayer of Safety himself....Perhaps when he comes down from the mount or finishes his wander in the wilderness (he lives in Washington you know)?

Inspite of all its short commings, the N-Tractor "lives" and so will you if you practice "SAFTY" with an Over-Running-Coupler on the PTO.

And no matter how handy that upper 3-point hitch under the seat seems to be, NEVER pull anything from it, Guarenteed to pull the tractor over backwards on top of you, if you do.

The Safety Preacher..... ...Dell
