Just a rumination.....

The other day, I was bush hoggin' the 10 acres. When I lifted for a turn, the shudderin' and shakin' of the mower about jiggled me off my seat! I stopped, put the unit out of gear, and when it had coasted to a stop, checked underneath. The blades seemed to be fine, not too dull, but just SLIGHTLY (and I do mean slightly!) out of line. I thought, "This CAN'T be why its shaking!", but bumped the blades back into line anyway. When I restarted the unit, the vibration was GONE! I truly thought that the centrifugal force would keep the blades self-aligned, but silly me! I guess even a small amount of misalignment can be critical! FYI Ron

Last month I hit a 3" tree stub just right, and my bush hog blades crossed over from the backlash. Talk about shake rattle and roll...
