Did the 8N Ford come with a hand engine crank?

Was a hand crank available as an option?

If it will work on an 8N, where can I get one?

Regards

I saw a local 8N w/ a handcrank that even had a clip-on bracket on the running board. You can make a crank with a piece of 5/8"(or whatever fits) rod and a roll pin and a torch. We used to have a 2N w/ a crank and it always started on the 2nd pull.

I took a picture of mine and edited it to display dimensions. If anyone wants a copy to make one, give me an email holler and I'll send it your way.

I believe hand cranks came with the included tool kits. I wouldn't be surprised if you could still buy one from a New-Holland dealer. Or, at least from on of the advertisers here on YT. However, these suckers are more dangerous than your mother-in-law during menopause! Great way to get your thumb or wrist broken when they kick back on you.

To avoid a broken thumb I was always told make sure your thumb is pointing forward, because with it pointing forward there's nothing to get your thumb caught on.
