I had my frontend loader hydralic pump spring a leak and it was rebuilt. It worked fine for 20 minutes then it blew out the front again. The pump is a Wagner and I wonder what the problem is and if there is something that they can do to make sure I get it fixed right. Can they test it before I go to the trouble putting it on and refilling the hydralic fluid. How much hydralic fluid should the system hold? Can it have too much or tooo little. Does anyone make an owner's manuel for the 8N frontend loader ?

I have not found a manual for the Wagner 8N loader. One that I myself have. As for how much oil it takes, dunno. I fill mine up until it quits acting up, and add some more. Someday, I've really got to fix those leaking hydraulic cylinders. Just as soon as I figure out whose they are and which of the many specific universal kits would fit. Why are they called universal if they are specific anyhow?

As for popping the pump, I wonder if your spool valve is working correctly. For I have observed on mine that the pump seems to have no pressure relief, but relies on a recirculating circuit that goes through the spool valves when they are in the neutral position. Now if one were to have the wrong type of spool valve (don't remember the names of the different types), the system would be blinded and the pump build up catastrophic pressure internally.

I don't know about the Wagner, but I'd take the pump back to whoever "rebuilt" it and have them check it over. It seems to me that there needs to be a bypass on the rotary pump and a return line for the fluid to the reservoir. If the fluid can't bypass the cylinder somehow pressure can build up. Make sure all the lines are open and any valves work properly.

Rick..... ...I'm not a hydraulic expert but check "www.n-news.com" the N-Newsletter has an awsome "archives" of all sorts of equipment manuals that they sell copies of at reasonable $

Hope this helps..... ....Dell
