REPLACED POINTS AND SUCH SOMETIME AGO ANY HELP ON HOW TO CHECK THE RISISTOR FOR LOW VOLTS NOT TO BURN THE POINTS OUT! IT IS CONVERTED TO 12-VOLTS THANKS

RATS.....

I flunked mind reading (check my ex-wife) but reading between the lines implys that you have a front mount ignition system. If you still have the "original 6 volt ignition coil",

You will want to measure about 3.5 volts at the ignition coil with the points closed and ignition switch turned on. If you measure battery voltage, that means the points are open, just put the tractor in gear and roll it a little until the points close and you read some voltage between 3-4 volts. Anything else means that you don't have your resistors connected in series (like flashlight batterys), if you have your resistors side by side you will draw too much current through the ignitions coil and point and burn them out.
