Having never seen a rear mounted loader, I was following the recent thread with interest. And in wandering around, I happened to find that CadPlans Corporation has the plans for a rear mounted loader now. Or at least they say it's new.

No financial interest, bla bla bla, but I thought this might be of interest to some of you.

I checked out the cad site, that loader doesn't look much like the Dearborn Rear Loader although it looks as if it would be much easier to hook up. The old Dearborn Rear Loader has loaded many a manure spreader.

I have used a Wifo 3pth loader and it sure beats forking. The wifo is like a 3 point mounted boom crane with a trip bucket on the end.The lift height and reach are limited and the lifting force is limited to what your tractor hitch will lift but for small amounts of work it is better than a front loader because it is easier on the tractor. The Cadplan unit is probably better because of having its own cylinders.

Does that plan include chiropractic care for neck adjustment?
Looks easy enough to build. You could run the two hydraulic cylunders from an aux PTO-driven pump..

I've wondered about that. Can't imagine operating a rear mounted loader or hoe from an N can be much fun.

Something I'm having fun kicking around as a notion is redoing my more normal loader. It's a Wagner, but it's a hatefull thing.

The idea is to make a more modern loader framework on the tractor. That way it's lighter, and much more accessable. Then have it so that I could quickly remove the loader itself, while leaving the framework and the hydraulic pump on the tractor. Then I would always have available live hydraulics and controls. The framework also includes mounting points up front for a simple and light weight backhoe (nosehoe?). Wouldn't have the capacity of a normal backhoe, but then I don't need that much capacity. With one of those extending boom type of arms, I could use the loader hydraulics with no additional modifications or plumbing.

With quick connect hydraulic couplers and steel pins for impliment mounting, I could have quite a versatile quick change rig.

I've been having fun doodling around on paper with this idea. It just might work, and helps me rationalize the welder I bought. :-)

Maybe it would be easier to turn the seat around...
