I had my 9N running last summer, after I replaced the battery, plugs & wires, distributor cap, etc... She ran like a champ!
I went home this summer on leave and the %@%^&*!@ thing would'nt start. I tried everything I could think of. Battery was charged, new fuel, wires and plugs good, gas was flowing to the engine, juice was going to the starter motor and generator, gaps were good on the points. No spark was going to the plugs. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

CC..... ..."juice was going to the starter motor and generator", but was juice going to the coil? Should read about 3.5 - 4 volts with the points closed and 6 volts with the points open. If not, I would suspect the ignition switch contacts. Believe it or not, they can go "bad" just setting there waiting for you to come back a year later. Eazy to check with jumper wire..... ....Dell

Cannon Cocker, If I it was me, I would put the bore scope in and get a good battery alignment. You might as well check the fireing cutouts while your at it. If that dosen't work, blame it on the FTs. I've been away from it for awhile so I've probably missed something. Keep your powder dry.

Piece of cake. Faulty points (not making good contact) or bad coil. Reminds me of the time the neighbor boy decided to play on my N while waiting on the school bus. I was using a pull type ignition switch, and he had no idea what all the knos were for. Needless to say, he went off to school with the ignition left on on my N. $32 for a new coil and $7.50 for new points. I even threw in an extra $12 for a key switch. Problem solved.

Later.....Tommy
