Choke adjustment

For the past fifteen years, my 8N would not run unless the choke was pushed in completely. Recently, it sputters and dies unless I keep the choke pulled out about 1/2 inch.

Is there a way to adjust the choke? Right now it has a clothes pin holding it in place. This works, but it doesn't look too great. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Al, got to thinkin' about your problem. You may have an intake manifold leak that would cause a lean mixture and the need for the choke. Good luck, ray

Al, Got a feelin' your problem is not the choke that needs an adjustment but a fuel flow problem. Pull the fuel line loose at the carb. and see if you have a good steady flow of fuel. If you have a full stream at the carb the next step is a carb. cleaning and while it is apart why not put a kit in it. If you do not have a full stream of fuel at the carb. go back to the tank, sediment bowl/shut off valve, what ever you may have, is probably "junked up". Good luck, ray
