Hydraulic Pump advice

This past Spring I was having problems keeping the 3pt hitch on my 8N at a constant height. It was either up or down. I honed the hydraulic cylinder, replaced the piston and installed the new type o-ring. I also replaced a couple of worn parts. I really thought the worn parts were the problem. However, it continued to have the same symptoms except it longer leaked down. This past weekend while scraping the driveway the blade fell down as if something had broke. Sure enough it won't go back up. When I remove the blade the lift arms they go up but I can push them back down with very slight pressure. I removed the inspection plates to look for leaks. There was a slight movement of the fluid but no obvious turbulence or leaks from the cylinder. The pump is out and on the workbench, so where do I start? Safety valve? Control valves? Or complete rebuild? Do you think reconditioning the cylinder increased the pressure on the pump and caused this problem?

Control linkage.

I'm 99% certain that you have something worn or broken in there, most likely in the position control mechanism/cam/follower/spring area.
