I've just purchased a 5' back blade. I took off my 5' shredder and stabilizer bars, can I or should I have left the stabilizer bars on? THANKS GUYS.

Leave them on. On my tractor, the blade managed to swing over far enough to catch the lugs on the rear wheel and damage the fender. Stabilizer bars solved this problem.

I leave mine on for everything that hooks up. Without them the three points float back and forth and if you catch a stump or rock the bars help keep the main load of impact off the 3pt's. If you have a angle adjust blade they could help keep the blade off the tires.

Put the bars back on. I have a nice '50 8N with a chain bracket that was yanked out. The lower bolt hole leaked oil. It is plugged, but no longer useable. The upper bolt holds the clamp and chain in place, but I do not put a load on it. I always use the stabilizer bars for fear of more damage. I only wish the preveous owner did. Your back blade could easily catch a rock or stump on one of the out side edges and break something just like mine did.
