Had similar problem--not one to mess around, I replaced all key cooling system parts except the radiator, which I flushed internally. Finally flushed out the radiator fins where the air flows with garden hose...lots of seeds, little plant parts and perhaps 50 years of mud flowed out...and I'd swear it looked clean when I inspected it! Anyway, no overheating since.
good luck,
tom

Howdy Randy, You say it's getting hot, what are the symtoms? Boiling over, or does it just seem like there's a lot of heat coming from up front. A lot of the fans on N's are puller fans, the fan is pulling the air from in front of the grill and blowing it back towards the operator. It can seem like the engine is too hot but in fact it is normal. N's have a very large cooling system for the engine size. Fred

Randy, I'd also check operation of thermostat in upper hose. Might be wise to replace anyway as long as your there. Good luck. Fred
