I went to Sommerset Show in Va. with my JD buddy.
8Ns in 3000lb class didn't seem to pull all that well. Maybe Tires are smaller than competion?
My buddys 830 JD 19 hp. did as well. Whats up.
Was a great show.best mix I've seen. Sharp 8Ns there.

Don't know if it's weight distribution or gearing or torque or what, but stock 8N's don't seem to fare well in pulls. The little AC-B's seem to be able to outpull most ebverything in the weight class. I have one I'm trying to get now. They outlawed the 6 and 8 cylinder 8N's from pulling here. I'm really thinking hard about putting a Ford turbo 4cylinder(Cougar or T-Bird) in an 8N and see how it pulls. Also figuring a way to put a 2 speed rear end (like a farm truck)in it.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed our show. Hope to have you there same weekend next year. I realy looked over those N's so that I couls make sure that i finish mine out right when it comes back from the paint shop. what day did you go? If it was Saturday, or Friday and you came through the Exhibitor gate, then you brobably saw me. I worked that gate most of Friday and most of Saturday.
