this is to inform u non mechanic types about the scams of repairing n series lifts. I spent about 160.00 to have a lift repaired that was acting up after the oil warmed up. after being told i needed a new cover plate because of a frozen yolk i became iritated. the est, cost was appr. 6-700.00
with a little heat and some {finesse} it can easily be freed. i was also told that i needed a new releif valve. when i got the tractor back it was like nothing was ever done. i am an auto mech and very seldom have time to fix my own problems and end up really paying in the long run. with $14 worth of seals and lift cyl. rings and about 6 hrs of cleaning that should have been done in the first place, the pump is working like new. i hope this note will save some people much wasted time and money. ps it also does not hurt to reface the inlet and outlet pump valves or buy new ones. the lift takes about one and a half hours to drift down after turning off tractor. lift cyl. is key object. for more info or questions
