Over the past three years I've had the pleasure of painting & restoring several 8N's, a Jubilee, 640 and an 850. I've found two red paint codes that match perfectly: (Napa #99L-4338 and PPG Red DAR 70075 H) My 850 still has it's original shiny paint under the hood, my 8N had original gray on the bottoms of the fenders. When comparing the several Gray (or Grey) paints available, I have yet to find a match. The Napa, CT and other greys are far too white, the Ford-New Holland, PPG and many others have far too much of a tan or beige tint. Don't get me wrong, these tractors look great, and it's eye candy every time I see a freshly painted beauty along the highway. I just wish I could find the exact match. The closest thing I've seen is the Funk V-8 conversion on pg. 94 of the Peterson & Beemer originality guide. Does anyone have the real paint code? Comments? Thanks for letting me babble!

Rob, I found that the NAPA (Martin Senour) gray # 99L 3732 matched perfectly on the paint on the bottom side of my hood. Like yours, the paint on the bottom of my hood was in excellent shape. It seems to have a tinge of green to it and is not real light gray like I've seen on some 8n's. Hope this helps!!!

I called the NAPA store where I had my 8n paint mixed. The 99L 3732 is the correct number for the paint, but this mixing formula will have to be found on Micro Fish and NOT in the paint code book. The listing in the paint book is for Lacqure which is not correct. Sorry if I messed anyone up on this!!!!
