Looked at this tractor it has 9N motor*57700*.2N logo. The rear axles are short w\truck tire on one side. One axle is missing. Is this axle hard to find,or can it be machine made? Front axle is one piece non-adj.Not like other Ns, also it has hyd. brakes .Overall condition is poor.Does not run.Is it worth a grand ?. Thanks for any help. Skip

If I had an extra grand I'd buy it, just because you don't see many of them. Don't know about the axle. The BNO-25 had single rear wheels and BNO-40 had duals. The The hydraulic brakes were standard. Should have a horn on it, too. Don't know any practical use for an aircraft tug, but it would be more fun to drive around than a golf cart. It would really cool to pull a float in a parade with one. Is the engine locked up, or just won't start? I'd make the guy an offer, but IMO, a grand isn't much for a piece of WWII history. Restored, I'm sure there is a market for such a thing, especially among collectors or museum of WWII aircraft/memorabilia.

Well, I do. I volunteer at a flight museum full of WWII warbirds and I'd love to get my hands on an authentic BNO to use at the museum. If anybody knows of a restorable example (preferably within reasonable distance of Texas), please let me know.

Every now and then I search for information on BNO-40 tugs/tractors. I wish I had found
this discussion sooner. I have a BNO-40 that runs great but the fenders are missing. I also have access to parts
from another BNO-40. Basically from the transmission back, including the rear fenders.
It was cannibalized for the engine (it went to a 9N)
I have not used it much, I am interested in Ford N series tractors, I have an 8N. I have
tried to sell it before, but no one seems interested in it. Probably because very few know
what it is. I have had it for 22 years now (stored indoors) and would be interested in
selling it to someone who is interested in such things and will not cannibalize it.
If you, or anyone else, is interested please contact me.

I have a BNO-40 tug tractor that I have used for the last 35 years. I now need a rear hub, part # B-NO-6641-B, mine is loose and does not fit anymore. If anyone has one, or knows where I can find one, please let me know. I would be interested in a complete BNO-40 tug or one that is incomplete for parts. I have had this tug too long to give up on it.

I saw one at an auction last fall - I think it was the 40 model (with duals on rear) but it could have been the two rear wheel model. It went for $1400. It was minus the side sheet metal. It ran, but it was very rough running. I have no idea if $1,000 is good or bad, but just wanted to tell you what I know of this model. Gene
