Hunkered down and boarded up about 30 miles off the east coast of central Florida. Got the N and Jubilee in the barn and the doors boarded up. Starting to feel the outer rain bands of Floyd. Getting a few power "bumps", probably as the power lines get blown around as they run through about a half mile of woods to my place. Few small limbs coming down. Should be an interesting night. Hope Mr Floyd decides to stay off shore and lets us have the rain. Look out, bg, he is coming your way. ray

Floyd passed us well off shore. We have a few limbs down but no major damage. Guess I'll have to get out the landscape rake and clean up. Not even enough big stuff to try out my brand new chain saw. Still getting a few gusts this morning. A scant 1" of rain. Good luck to ya'll in the path. ray

S'posed to make landfall near Wilmington late tonight or tomorrow AM. I need to go to the Stihl chainsaw owner's page and see if I can figure out why my saw won't start. Been running fine until about a month ago, when it got left out in the rain. I wonder if I need to convert it to 12-volt negative ground?

After having experienced hurricane Fran first hand I am not looking forward to Floyd. With Fran we were without power for eight days. It was very tring after a while. I was prepaired with Fran and learned lessons that I will apply with Floyd.

Still looks like they are predicting the eye to come over my house in Raleigh. Better move my N out of the flood zone.

This is the BIG ONE. Probably make Hugo look like a runt. Bad thing is that I have to go to work tomorrow evening at sundown, just when they predict things will go from bad to worse around here. My N is sitting outside under a ragged plastic trap. I might have to wrap 'er up a little better.

I've got family in FL, SC, NC, and I will add you and yours in my prayers; looks like y'all might need a few extra. Plenty to go around!
When the big tornado hit OKC this spring, a camera crew went back in and interviewed a farmer. The camera panned 360 degrees and you saw no house, no barn, no cattle, no nothing until it came back to him. An 8N was the only possesion which had not been hurled counties away. God loves N's and the owners who love them, no doubt.
We will be watching & praying for all you boys & girls on the East coast. Keep us posted. TX'n

Sure would like to see some of that rain wander off up toward Northwest Alabama but don't want the other stuff that comes with it. Good luck to you guys in the danger zone.

Good luck Ray. Just e-mailed my in-laws down in Wilmington N.C. to see if there were anything I could bring them from up here (WNC) . I figure plywood is pretty scarce about now.
You guys hang in there.....
