Is there a product or method to fill deep cracks in the sidewalls of rear tractor tires?

Somewhere, and I thought it was here, I saw a message posted by a guy who'd purchased a brush on coating for his tires. He was thrilled with the effects, and had a bunch left over. But I can't find the message in the archives. Gremplers vaguely rings a bell as perhaps being the supplier. More searching through the archives might get a hit eventually, if you can ever figure out what drives that search engine.

All this is moot of course if you're down to the cords. Those cords rot quickly when exposed, particularly with a tractor as water and dirt get into them quickly.

If you fold dollar bills up real tight in pokem in the cracks tween the fingers of your tire man, you'l see the cracks in your sidwalls magically disappear.

Al- I had the priviledge to live in your great state for a couple of years and let me just say, after seeing the grand canyon sized cracks that developed in my dash you don't stand a chance filling those cracks unless you use a tube of silicone. And I wouldn't even try that 'cause the silicone would be hard after 1/64" left the tube. Overall AZ is inhospitable to man or machine unless you are in a boneyard, or in the White Mtns.
You might try Miller's (board sponsor) tire paint and UV protector. Out there it could only help. No offense intended to your state, my son was born there, and 5 weeks later we returned to Texas so he might be "raised right". What part of the state do you hail from?

Gempler's has a couple of products to repair tire defects. I have never used them, so I can speak to their efficacy. They also have a UV protectant for tires. I have not used it either...

Thank you everyone for the responses. When faced with spending $600 for four new tires I would like to try some alternatives first and see if I get lucky. How do I contact Gempler's for a look at their tire defect products? I was hoping there was something out there that might be called "Liquid Rubber" or "Tire Goop" etc.

It's called weather checking and is caused by rubber's reaction over time to oxygen and ozone. Tire manufacturer's add oils to the rubber compound to help prevent it, but the older the tire, chances are you're gonna get it. The cracks are not very deep and the problem is cosmetic IMO. I know of no filler that would bond and stay in the cracks as sidewalls flex. Hope this helps.

i don't know of anything to fill the cracks, but i do know how to prevent them.when you buy a new tire, clean it good ( the outside sidewalls and the inside of the tire real good ),then take a good quality liquid silicone and wipe the inside of the tire real good with it,DO NOT WIPE OFF!then do the outside the same way but you can wipe that off, then do the outside sidewalls periodically ( like after washing your car ).this really does work,i have been in the tire industry 20 years and learned this from somebody that used to work for nasa in the space program, give it a try you have nothing to lose, except weather checking. have a nice day.

I saw one N with a crack so bad in the sidewall that the tube was bulging out. Had been that way for some time apparently. Next time I saw that guy he had bought a new tire.

I've seen tractor tire sidewalls bolted together with steel plates and stove bolts, wired together with baling wire, stapled together with hog rings and laced together with nylon cable ties. Ya do what ya gotta do....
