I want opinions from all you 9N/2N owners out there (like me). Would you like to be able to stick a timing light on your little workhorse and KNOW dynamically if your timing is right????

This is just a poll...

Thanks, Joel

Not sure it would help that much, would it? I've fiddled a bit with my timing and it doesn't seem to make much real difference where it is set (within reason of course!)

Did that on my 2N, put timing marks on it when apart timed it once or twice using the light. Don't do it any more as the original way of setting up the distributor works best.

I am already so equipped. Not because it's a necessary thing, but because I'm an anal-retentive who is amused by such things.

I would say that it is likely an unnecessary function. A distributor that is set correctly will have correct timing on the motor, absent excessive wear or damage, which a timing check system would not correct for in most cases.

Daniel Lyonnet, our 2N friend in France, has a device installed on his 2N to do just that. He also has a position control device he invented.

I don't think I want to know. There are so many things already that are not quite right, and through pride and loyalty it keeps on doing its job. If I knew that there was an additional job to put off fixing, it would make me feel worse.
