I am thinking of buying a 6' landscape rake for my 8N. I would use it for leveling dirt and gravel and other cleanup jobs. I have also given thought to buying a 7' instead. Will my tractor handle this or will it just be more clumsy to use? My reasoning for the larger one is to rake a wider swath with light loads and my brother could also use it with his larger tractor. I could remove some tines in the tough going.

Thanks for all the information the rakes. I bought a 7' rake and am happy with it. It only cost $9 more than a 6' one and I can remove tines or even saw it off if I find out that it is too wide for my use. This board is great.

Power won't be an issue, but fine control is. Seriously consider getting gauge wheels for the rear. I sell them both ways and in my opinion, the wheels are well worth the extra cost when used in loose dirt.

Would handle either. Sometimes I wish my 6' rake were a five when I get too close between trees.

I have a six footer for my '47 8n and I think it could easily handle a seven footer, although I have never seen one.

Often use 7' York Rake w/ scarifier bar behind my 8N. Not a problem. Just wish it had power down
sometimes.
