I found a cultivator and a plow, both I believe are deereborn, the plow maybe a ford. He wants $175.00 for the cultivator and $150.00 for the plow. Is this high or about right? I need to know by 11-06-99. My modem has been down and I just got a new one installed so am running late getting this on. As before, thanks for all the help.

The plow is probably not overpriced if it is in good shape. There was a retired farmer that bought machinery at auctions and resold them at his son's service station until he died a few years ago.He was always honest and fair with his prices. He always priced Ferguson and Dearborn cultivators at $150.00 Canadian, that is about $105-$110 US.

It's a good price for a two-bottom plow if it has both coulters and a rolling landside...can't comment on the cultivator.

Russ, I can't comment on the cultivator, but I was at an auction 2 weeks ago and a Ferguson two bottom plow (nearly identical to a Dearborn) sold for 115.00 and it was missing both coulters(the disc that cuts the sod in front of the plow share). If it's in good shapethe price is about right. Make sure the main beam of the plow is straight, not bent from hitting large rocks which is pretty common here NE Wisconsin. Good luck Mark B
