After reading all this discussion. I am going to Walmart and getting me a brush and a can of red enamel and paint me a tractor or two. Heck, every Ford that I have owned or worked on was painted at least twice with a brush. Why take all the fun of sandblasting away from our grandkids?

Ain't you people got any tractor work to do? Reminds me of those long 12v verses 6v threads!
At least we have fun.

Yeah, Sears went to the off-white color to make the bird droppings blend in better than they did on the orig. Sears gray.

Well, golly-gee, Richard. If that's your idea of how to preserve an icon, then at least use the "correct" size paint brush, will ya??? Sheesh!

ROFL..... ....Ed

Not only the correct size, but also make sure that it's the correct bristle and weight. I wonder if they used China bristle, boar hair, squirrel hair, foam or textured polyester with flagged tips? There's also conjecture on whether one should use the left hand for the left side of the tractor and the right hand for the right side. Just so many considerations...tsk, tsk.

A roller works really well, too, especially if you only want to hit the high spots.

Naw man, use one of those foam rollers, like for a textured ceiling and you can hit every bit of your tractor, and fast, too!

How about using one of those rollers that paints designs of flowers and vines and things? Will that work or is it too trendy? The Martha Stewart 8N...

>> The Martha Stewart 8N... <<

I think that would work just fine, AS LONG as one used the "correct" Martha Stewart pattern for the season. We wouldn't want ole Martha calling anyone a "yahoo" now would we?

Hummm.....now that's an idea. I'll bet Martha would make a pretty nifty-look'in seat cushion. :-)

I just hope she doesn't use child labor in sweat shops like Kathy Lee does. :-)

Later,

Tyler
