Folks,

This 45 2N has a cylinder like device mounted on the frame in front of the left foot peg and behind the starter. Looks like it might be a brace or mounting point for something. I've looked through the 39-53 MPC but cant find anything that looks similar, ditto the numerous pictures of all the N's I could find on the net. Before I remove it, it would be nice to know what it is for. Anyone know what it is? Thanks in advance for the help?

we had a 39 9n that had a side mount mower. what you describe does sound like it could be part of the mower. when the mower was hooked up the cylinder almost looked like a barrel. it also had a big bolt through the middle of it. this is from a memory of over 30 yrs. ago, hope i don't steer ya wrong.

Maybe a part leftover from a Dearborn Side Mounted Mower?

Thank you gentelman! Where might I find a picture of a Dearborn side mount mower? Are they available? As always, thanks again in advance.
