NAA Hydraulics

What would most likely be the cause of weak and bouncing hydraulics on my NAA? When lifting a load on the 3pt, it tends to bouce a little bit and I don't think it is lifting to its full capacity. Also, after the load is lifted and the engine is shut off, it drifts down rather quickly.

Any ideas?

The pulsing when lifting is caused by one or more of the pistons in the hydraulic pump not pumping. Probably because of a broken spring in one or more of the ball valves of the pump.
The leaking down is caused by the oil bypassing in the lift some where. Probably the rings on the ram cylinder need replacing. There are other places that could leak but the rings are the usual place to leak.
Remove the right side inspection plate from the lift housing and look in with the engine running and an implement raised on the lift. You should be able to see the oil coming from the open end of the ram cylinder if the rings are bad.

Gonna be kind of hard to do that right now - the motor is in pieces. I guess I'll probably go ahead and replace the rings on the cylinder and see if that takes care of it. Any idea on the cost of a rebuild kit for the pump?
