A guy down the road has an 8N for sale for $2000.
It runs well but hood is banged up.
Is this a decent price? I have no idea and
have just bought 3 acres that I will need to keep mowed. This tractor has no implements with it,
but does have the 3 point hitch. Thanks.

Murphy There is no such animal as a 41 8n. If it is a 41 it would have to be a 2n.But that's not important here. If the tractor runs and all systems operate properly that's a fair price here
in Georgia for this tractor. No doubt you will need
to do some work on it if you buy it,but that's part of the fun of having an N-series.If you have any problems this board is a very valueable tool to have in that there are people here that share their knowledge and experience with others. You will learn a lot about these facinating machines
while working on them and reading about them.I have found it to be a very rewarding experience.
Good Luck Mark

Murph --- Is that a typo in your post??? I believe that a '41N would have to be a 9N and an 8N would have to be at least a 47 or younger. Correct me if I'm wrong. This probably has little to do with your decision on buying it but it's my $0.02 worth

a running usable n series tractor albeit 9,2 or 8 in middle Tn, will go for between $700 and $2750 with the 700 being little better then a basket case and the 2750 a little shy of a show pc. Average would be 1700. Total restorations would be what ever the traffic would bear depending on the craftmanship of the rebuilder. IMHO
