I recently bought a 2n and found out it has draft control, you know that little lever under right hand side of drivers seat. I had alway thought that didn`t come out until 8-n was produced. Does anyone out there have any info on this ? Thanks homeboy

I recently wrote to you guys about a problem situation I have with an old 2n I bought that had a draft control under the seat that was not produced on that model. I got 2 very good answers and I really do appreciate your help. But whatI was amazing was the S--- it started about Zane and his Thang. Please guys don`t mess this info site up with politics and personalitys. It is a great site for info about old Ford tractors. If I want politics I can always turn on the old T.V.The short time I have been reading this post I have found it very informative about the appropiate subject matter, please lets keep it that way . To the annommus writer who Wanged on Zane`s`Thang please get a life. I bet you really do know alot about tractors and I would like to hear from you about it than to hear the neg. comments about Zanes Thang! Zane I have not read alot about your new idea but I have enjoyed you sharing your knowledge with us and hope you will keep it up. Sincerly homeboy

Roy

I am not sure if in all the hulla-balloo you might have missed the idea that you should contact Zane about his "Zane Thang"

Everyone who has installed it is very happy.

Just in case :-)

Happy Tractoring

Almost without a doubt, you have a 2N which has had 8N hydraulics installed. This is easily done, it all just bolts in. Most likely, a wrecked or junked 8N donated its still-working hydraulics to your tractor. Best of both worlds.

I consider everybody on this board a personal friend...especially Zane. In your, case you are making it difficult. Lighten up. This board is for information and fun...not necessarily in that order. Come have some fun with us, and if you learn something, that's a bonus.
Sandy

I haven't used Zane's thang, since I don't have a 9 or 2N. I have ,however, used his considerable expertise and input on a wide variety of other topics and appreciate his generosity in sharing it with those of us who are: Willing to learn and do for ourselves and wise enough to keep smartass remarks to ourselves.Maybe Zane could invent a muffler/filter system to keep non value added commentary like yours off the board.

I think you are confused with those of us who use the "Zane Thang", and promote it because it works so well. Anyone who has a 2N or 9N will benefit greatly from "position" control.

Get a life,
Steve

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who this contributor is.

And his contributions may easily be compared with what Zane brings to the party.

Given that differential, I certainly don't think that Zane is out of line in promoting his product, and apparently Kim doesn't think so either.

It seems that most of us really appreciate your help on a day to day basis Zane. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I don't know why exactly, but your post sort of irks me. I think it has something to do with your reluctance about using your name and leaving a email address. I happen to believe Zane has despensed quite a lot of great information and imparted several decades worth of *real* Ford related wisdom both here and on the Ford board. All for FREE and for a good long while. Zane has given his time to help out those who might not have otherwise found much needed help with their tractor related problems. What's the harm in his offering his device to those who can make use of it? I further believe most of the people who post, or lurk here will agree with me about Zane.

Regards
John

Nameless dork- Be cool fool! Old man Zane has forgot more than most of us will ever know about the Ford N and other equipment.

Put your pride aside and ask questions here. Try to offer information of value to others. Be a contributor, instead of what seems common in society anymore. IHank

They all had draft control, which would actually raise or lower the implement depending on the amount of pressure on it. You're thinking about position control, which basically overrides the draft control, and holds the implement at the same height, no matter what.
