I came across this tractor on a recent trip way down south. Serial number showed later model. I didn"t think to write it down to see if original L.P. equipped. It would be a long haul for me but would fit in nicely with my other tractors. Tractor did not have two or three speed, just a straight transmission.

I have a 1650LP that is factory original and also has the straight transmission. Mine is a 1966 model according to the serial number. It also has LPG stamped on the serial number tag just off to the right and below the model number of 265-23048

Oliver had an optional LP gas package. As far as the axle and wheels are concerned who knows what the prior owner(s) have done with it.

Interested picture there- I have seen an LP 1650 before. Find it odd its got the early style wide front on it, and the later rear cast spin-outs. Something isnt quite right here...As for the lack of a 2 or 3 speed--I looked at a Minneapolis Moline G750 last winter that came factory deleted--I talked to the original owner and he figured it'd just go out if he ordered it with one. I'm still mad that the dealer hosed me on that deal....

What makes this the early style wide front? What is different in the later style ones?

The wishbone on this one goes on top of the tube- early wide front. Later ones go below the tube. Also the arms on the spindles are different.

If memory serves me right this was a 1967 model, starting serial #188. I think the front end and LP is correct but those rear wheels seem odd to me but we never had spin outs on any of our larger tractors. There were two of these tractors still in use on neighboring ranches five miles apart. Everything else on the ranch was new blue New Holland.

Alot of the contract mowing outfits in this area(roadsides, levies) ordered straight transmissions because of the fear the inexperienced help would tear up the two or three speed.

Our 1966 1650 has a serial number in the 160's and its got the later wide front. I believe the early one is correct on 64 and 65's only.
