I was wondering if anyone has ever fabricated a nicer step on their tractor. I have a 2-70 white that has just the regular small step, not always easy to mount. I had even thought of trying to bolt up a "new style step" from off of a John Deere. Any pics or ideas?

We did exactly what you said with the John Deere step on our 1650. You'll have to egg out the one mount hole a half inch and it will bolt right onto the back mount plate. The only complaint I got is that its has a gap between the step top and tractor platform, but its within 6 inches or so. The step is even fairly sturdy, and only shakes a little bit when traveling at certain speeds. It makes it much easier to get onto the unit, especially for dad. I dont have a picture of it, but its well worth your money--do it!

Now you boys better be careful about bolting that "other green" on a real tractor. My Super 88 Diesel won't even share a field with one!

Got a real good chuckle about your reply. I agree. Two different greens will clash. Poor tractor won't know what it is supposed to be.

LOL, well....I work at Deere, so I better buy something from them...LOL. Its interesting....I have worked there for just short of 3 years, and we've bought 2 White tractors(2-105, 145), a 226 field cultivator, and a 445 disk chisel. Also, we always ran Simplicity/Agco lawn tractors, and we bought a Simplicity we traded in at work. I really like the Deere mowers, but this Simplicity was a fantastic deal. Go figure:)
