Hi,

I have a Super 55 that runs great. The 3 point will lift quite a bit of weight. I have a 5 bush hog that it will lift. Overnight, even with no weight on the hitch, the arms will slowly drop to their lowest point. I don't think that this is normal, but I need one of the experts to tell me that it isn't and what is causing the issue. Is there some sort of adjustment to limit the rate of drop or is it more involved that that?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks to both of you for the prompt replies. This sounds like a project for a cold, snowy day. I may gather up the parts and tackle it in the next couple of weeks before the weather breaks. I will report back in this thread if I am successful.

Unfortunately if you want it fixed, you need to remove the lift cover. If its lifting plenty of weight, then the pumps fine. Your piston contains a leather backup washer, and an o-ring. When either the o-ring, or backup washer goes bad, it leaks causing the settling. If you can live with it, thats okay, but if not then go ahead and tear into it to fix it. Its an easy fix, 14 bolts to remove and off goes the cover. If you decide to get into her, check out your other parts. There is a press test that can be done to determine if anything is worn or bad. I would highly recommend doing it if going into the hydraulics. They are a simple system to get into and it would pay off to have things checked. One other thing is if it has an external control valve, there is a relief valve in there. Check it to make sure theres nothing between the ball and seat. Good Luck!

Most 3 points will do that over time. My ford 841 will drop what ever it has on it in about and hour maybe more. It has done that since I got it and I've had it about 25 years now.
