I have a 550 and 880 NF with a power traction hitch and I was wanting to get a newer rake that is 3pt and PTO drive I have not Tried NH but the only thing I can find is a Krone rotary rake at the local dealers the smalest one they sell is about 1300 pounds will the 880 or 550 handel this I dont have any extra front waights on ether but the 880 has the big cast front hubs and I do have some 4 digit waights that I could put on there and the 550 dous have the 59A loader bracket on could put the loader on I gess or do I need to keep looking for one of those Massy (MF) bar rakes like grandpa used to have that worked good on the 3000 Ford and the MM Jet Star 2 I want to put it on the 880 but would rather use the 550 in sted of the 1755 for a backup has enyone used thes on rough ground like water ways do they do a good job Thanks

Farmer down the road uses a Kuhn rotary on a Ford 3000 diesel.Nice setup, does a good job and light on fuel.

If that Krone rotary is anything like my Kuhn,I've always said a chimpanzee could rake lawn clippings with one. It does a super job. I know that 880 is kind of light on the nose, but I'd think it would handle it. I use a Gehl 318 8 wheel V-rake on my 1550 with no weights. That puppy sticks out there a lot farther than that rotary does. My rotary is a pull type,so I don't know just exactly how heavy they are. Not vary for the pull type.

If it's rough, you'll miss a little, can't help it. The wheel rake would do better there. With the 3pt rotary, make sure it's set to float.

I was told the wheel rake wont do hevy hay and I was woryed that it would not work with veryed speeds and slow speeds or dous it mater I had to run faster than I want to to get the ground drive bar rake to work right that was why I was wanting PTO powered I know that the wheel rakes are more in my price range but if it wont do it it defets the purpous of a new rake
