Can anyone tell me what the A,B,C means that is connected with the Oliver 1900?....according to the serial number chart 1960-1962 were A"s 1962 & 1963 were B"s and 1963-64 were C"s...

Yes it can! B & C series for sure. I do have a picture on Oliver literature of an A series with it.

The A series had the checkerboard stripe down the side. Here is a picture of my 1800 A series. B and C series had the tapered Oliver nameplate on the side panel. Don't know much about the mechanicals of the 1900. Usually the later models had several improvements over the previous ones.

This will help some I hope. The A series have less horsepower and have a 4-53 S model engine( 2 valve head) B & C tractors have 4-53 N model engines which have 4 valve heads, different sleeves and pistons, etc. A & B tractors use the same hydraulic unit, C series use the larger pump and have other improvements. A & B series diod not have pressure lube on the transmission from Charles City.

I just came accross and ad for a 1900 front wheel assit model. Detroit powered. Is this a factory opition on a 1900 Oliver? Or could this be ????
