I recently bought a 1250 Oliver (Fiat) diesel tractor and would appreciate any information anyone can give me on this tractor. The tractor runs real well except it doesn't start the first time of the day without either, probably because the glow plugs aren't working. I have never owned an Oliver or known anyone who did so I'm not sure where to get parts or anything. Do White dealers still carry parts for these tractors? I have looked for decals on the net but can only find them for older Olivers. Would White dealers have decalc and/or sheet metal? Does anyone have a picture of this tractor? Mine has orange wheels but I think they should be white. And does anyone know the years these tractors were built and their horsepower? Thanks, Tim

Tim: I bought a 1969 1250 Oliver Diesel in 1973 new. It still starts good with the glow plugs and it runs good. I haven't had or needed any work done on the motor.I don't have all that many hours on it. I have no knowledge of where to get parts. I have my parts and operators manuel. If you are a mechanic, you could use the manuel to do any kind of surgery on the tractor step by step.

Tim, Try Barrick's Tire Service in Newville, PA. I
have a 1967 1250. I'm told it's 38 hp. Mine is hard starting first time too no matter how warm the weather. If you keep cranking it she starts but I give it a sniff of ether to save the starter. If you're not aware of it keep an eye on the pump. You should see a small dipstick on it. It needs oiled here. Pump doesn't get oil from engine. Good luck, Lou.

Tim,
I can help some. We had a 1250 gas for one year, purchased new in 1969. We traded it for another Oliver. Within 2-3 years, the 55 series replaced the 50s. The wheels should be white. Ours had spin-outs, with white centers and silver rims. I don't know about parts availability. You might consider joining the Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association, (HPOCA). Their web site is hartparroliver.org Good luck----DWM
