I am intrested in purchasing a 1500 or 1600 series "gas" tractor. Are these tractors the same physical size? Who has some input on the pros and cons of these tractors?

Have had both series, still have 1550 gas rated at 53 hp, the 1650 gas is rated @ 66 hp. Both good solid and reliable. If possible, I would go with the 16 for the additional hp plus the later ones had the 3-speed hydraul shift. These will be more $$ however. The 15 I have has 5,800 hours, starts immediately every time, no matter how long it's been setting or how cold it is and everything still works. The row crop models are the same physical size.

The 1650 is a real good gas tractor. Have the carb. completely overhauled. They love work!

The 1550 has the old slideing gear transmission so it shifts harder than the 1600,1650.Thr 1550 allso has the older style engine.
