My grandpa has a blackhawk 35, serial number 1037, is this a rare tractor? He uses it everyday, it has a manure bucket and still runs great. I told him I want to buy it from him someday, any idea what it's worth? Thanks for the help and info!

Thanks to everyone for all their help and info, I really appreciate it and my Grandpa now has a new affection for his old tractor that now seems to have some historic ties and worth!

I have one also, and love it. It's a Cockshutt 35, but in 1956 Cockshutt had taken over the Blackhawk company, which made plows and implements. Cockshutt decided to name their 35's and 40's (and maybe other models?) "Blackhawk" in 1956 to promote the acquisition. This was also the first year of the cream over red color scheme. I believe they reverted to the Cockshutt name in 1957. The 35 is basically a 40 with a Hercules 4 cylinder, 198 cubic inch gas engine.

Yes ,that is a rare tractor, only 1850 units made in 3 years.Your grandfathers is a 1956 model, the 36th tractor made. What options are on this particular tractor? Standard wide front, adjustable wide front, power steering, 3-point hitch? Please let me know, I'm just curious.I have 2 of these tractors myself.

I'll get more info on it for you, I know it has a wide front, not sure if it's adjustable, has 3 point and manure bucket, the kind with the lever that lets the bucket loose to unload. I hope I can get it someday! My Grandpa is over 80 yrs old and they still use it just about everyday! It's got manure and dirt on it that is more than likely as old as the tractor, probably has never been washed but it runs like a dream!

The "Blackhawk 35" is a new one to me. Would appreciate knowing more about this tractor,ie; where it was made and where it was sold. A picture would be super. Thanks.

Not a big expert on the 35 but I can tell you some stuff. It was made by cockshutt. The blackhawk replaced the Co-op in 56. I have a Black Hawk 40. A 35 looks like a Cockshutt 40. They have yellow hoods and wheels and red frames. The link shows a Cockshutt 35. No differnt than a Black Hawk
