Is there a difference in the deck/block height between the early 1800 seven main blocks and the later seven main blocks used in the 283/310 engines? Are there any other significant differences? I know the later turbo bloks have the oil cooler provison. I have a chance at a reasonably priced block (1800) and am thinking of picking it up.

Thank you,
A.P.

It should work. I put an 1850 gas b;lock in a 1655 diesel. There were three water ports in the block I had to plug was all I did.
