Can you use any other brand of wheels on an Oliver 88 and still use the heavy cast centers? Mine came with 13.6X38's on it and I want to run 15.5's. I have a set of pressed steel Oliver rims on it now but am thinking I am going to be way too light for pulling as it will run in the 4500#class now. When I had the other wheels on it it was starting in the 5500 and did real good. Looked at JD and Farmall 14-15 inch rims but they won't fit the centers right.

I'll use wheel weights if I have to but would rather find a good set of rims to put my tires on instead. thanks!

Are you asking about rims? If so I have been told the rims with 2 rings or "bevels" (like on Deeres)will work but the cast centers are too large to fit past them so the rim will be out pretty far. Or you can unbolt the cast wheel, push the rim up against the tractor, then put the cast wheel back on up against the outer bevel. Either way I have been told the cast center won't fit between the bevels so it seems either the rims would either be out pretty far or in pretty far with no in-between. I guess you could dish the wheels the other way or put the hub on the outside of the cast center to compensate.

Ok I wil look into that. I bought a set of JD rims forthis purpose but they have the clamping lugs already pressed into them so they won't work/ I'll look around and see if I can find some with just the solid beads and no clamping lugs on them.
