I have been offered one, how robust is it. Thanks

The 50 did have a two cylinder engine however I am not sure what brand. Most of the older Oliver had Wisconsins. We too had a 50 but it was PTO driven. We replaced a model 8 with the 50, what a difference in weight! The 50 did an excellent job however we traded for the 60T when they were available.

We used a PTO model for over 15 years with virtually no problems..... one of the most trouble-free pieces of equipment on the place, baled 3600-4000 bales of hay and 4-500 bales of straw a year

the big gear that drives the plunger will wear in one spot, but you can unbolt it from the carrier and turn it 180 degrees

I have a pto driven model 50 baler that I have used for the last 5 years without any problems. They are a smaller capacity baler but are well engineered. Pull mine with a super 55 diesel. If it isn't worn out, get it.
