Have just found an Oliver crawler.Plate on left side says model oc-46-3G serial nbr 2wr-470. Has a loader on it with plate on right loader arm that says"oliver loader model 46-3 serial nbr 2276 oliver corp cleveland ohio". Seeems to be in pretty good condition. Can anyone give me info as to age, horse power, and value. Believe it is diesel. It is yellow in color.

OC means Oliver Crawler, 46 is the loader version of the OC-4. 3G would indicate it is a 3 cylinder gas model. Older OC-4 had a 4 cylinder L-head IXB Hercules engines. Without looking it up, I think the 3 cylinder was introduced in about 1957. The Cleveland plant was closed in 1961 and production of the OC-4 and OC-9 models was moved to the plant in Charles City Iowa where the wheel tractor were built. The engine is a 130 cubic inch Hercules. They were available as a diesel which would have been an OC-46-3D

Thanks for the info. I was told that this was a four cylinder diesel engine. According to the plate could this be possible?

I have a loader just like yours, based on your description, and as others said, it is a 3 cylinder gas model. Works fine. The counter weight in the back (two suitcase weights bolted on) weighs 960 lbs. Total rig weighs about 4 tons. Parts are available. NAPA and others like CarQuest, etc., sell the filters, plugs, points, etc. Zimmerman in Ephrata, Pennsylvania is a guru on these machines and can do any work and has lots of parts, new and used.

Not really. The only Oliver 4 cylinder diesel would be the OC-9 96 in your case if it was a loader unit
