At how many hrs are 77 diesels requiring rebuilding? Mine has between 4,500 and 5,000 hrs never been apart. Should I replace the wrist pin bushings on it or am I ok yet? I wouldent be so conserned if I was just idleing around. But I'm usally running it full throtle full load around 200 hrs a year and now plan to plant with it again which will also push its limits and don't want to blow a rod during spring. I know on a 310 I'd put them in but not sure about the 77. Thanks

The second 77 diesel I worked on back in the winter of 1960-61 put one through the side as well as a few 88 diesels that spring. The original pin bushings were bronze only. The steel backed bushing came out in probably 1955 or 56. I would take a look at them.
