I ran across a post from '99 on this subject. The whole thread was full of controversy but the original issue was never resolved. I encourage everyone to revist it.

I agree with Oliver is King whole heartedly but to stick with the subject, Oliver Green is most definitly not the same as JD green. I'm not sure about the earlier models, but from the late '50s on, the color scheme was Meadow Green and Clover White. Quite a dignified and symbolistic choice of colors for a diginied and symbolic tractor don't you think? Not like "Dear John" one-day-old calf s**t green and three-day-old calf s**t yellow. What does that symbolize?

i prefer the early three color paint scheme over the green & white.

spike i understand that some people like this kind of exchange...but if we continue this type of thing here, in my mind, it may diminish or side track the objective of this board, mainly to HELP others. the heated debates that will come aren't worth the time invested. my dad always said "let sleeping dogs lay" i would think we should do the same, in this forum. thanks for listening ron
