Can you get a rebuild kit for a 201 continental engine. If so where would be a good place to get one and about how much? Thanks Brandon

Is the cost an object? There are alternate methods. How good is the EXTERNAL condition of the cylinder sleeves? How well do you understand F model Continentals?

Cost is not a big deal I was just tring to get a idea. I dont know a lot about the engines. Lets say the sleeves are fine but the ring are bad can I still get them and a gasket set?I am looking to buy one and might need to rebuild the engine and have yet to find a rebuild kit for it.

Brandon, My guess as to why J S asked you about the condition of the outside of the sleeves is that they can be bored and dry liner installed to get it back to standard . If the piston is not cracked or broken , reuse it . If the ring lands are worn repair with groove inserts . I just recently bore and sleeved a sleeve for an ED 208 cont'l. I made a fixture to hold the sleeve and bore with cylinder boring bar .

More or less that is what I had in mind. The sleeves were 3.125 although 3.250 aftermarket sleeves were available. You can bore them to take an oversize aluminum piston and you have a new straight and round cylinder bore, new pistons, etc. It is less money than a rebuild kit and does the exact same thing. A lot of F model Continental parts wil fit or can be adapted to the DS201 engine. George is a good shop man.
