Well sitting here I got to wondering, is there a set of higher compression pistions available for the Wauksha diesel engine in my Oliver 770?
Reson being that I bought this tractor cheap from my uncle but, it needs to gone through from front to back. I was thinking if I could bump up the compression it might start better in the cold.

Thanks for any help

Well your thinking is O. K. Two suggestions, put seats in the head if they are not there, early ones did not have intake seats, none had exhaust sets, have the machine shop set the valve recession to specs and put in a set of 3-5/8 bore sleeve and pistons. It makes them a better starter and an easy 50 horse diesel. Questions?

Would those pistions be the same as the stock bore for an 880D?

I was planning on completely replaceing the valves and maybe the giudes, and will look into putting in intake seats.

This is the firs Oliver in a stable full of red tractors, but I konw it was a good one cause my uncle estimates it has about 17,000 hrs on it and the engine hasn't been touched.

Same as a 1550 Oliver. 880 was 3.750
