Oliver 1465 with what appears to have clutch frozen (can't get any gear). What is the problem, and is it a big problem to fix? What would this 70HP Diesel be worth, it also has a loader?

I bought a White 2-60 (1365) a few months ago and we had the same problem (I think) when we tried a little test drive. The tractor started up fine, put it in gear and let the clutch out. Nada. They got one of the mechanics out & he sat on it running for about 5 seconds, reached his foot under the clutch and pulled up, off he went. This old girl sat out in the elements in the bay area in Calif. for who knows how long. Might be a similar case. Love mine, btw. Good luck. Kevin

Sounds as if the clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel. Most of the previous post's have good info but you want to know the reason it's stuck. Could be just rust from a pressure wash, an oil leak and dust & dirt mixed with the oil will cause a real sticky mess and can cause this problem. If you are mechanically inclined at all you should be up to fixin her yourself.
Good Luck, Pete

There should be a grease zerk somewhere over the bell housing. Give it a couple of shots of grease and try to work the clutch back and forth. I've had that happen on my 1850 after it sat for quit a while.

Can not speak for the 1465, never sold one. On the stuck cluch we would have a couple every year on rowcrop models. Find a tree a foot in diameter and good heavy duty log chain. Tie the chain around the tree. Hook the other end to the drawbar. Start the tractor and get it in first gear and have some slack in the chain. Make sure the clutch petal is down. If the clutch is stuck when the chain gets tight it will unstick. I do not know about the 14 as we sold the 12 & 13 sized Fiats. All those Fiats have an access door to get in to adjust the cluch. I know the 14 is a little different but look for that plate, take it off. But before you do that, Have someone on the seat (with the engine off) and see if the throwout bearings move forward so they are functioning properly before you try anything. Questions?

The easy way to unstick the clutch is to drill about a 3?4" hole in the bell housing in line with the clutch and hold the pedal down , reach through the hole with a screwdriver and you can pop the disc loose. when done fill the hole with a plastic plug

It all depends if you plan on doing the work yourself of having it done. Shop around, look up the prices of parts before diving in. Last time I checked, a complete clutch cost $1200.00US. That's not including anything else. They are great tractor for their size, what is the condition overall?

The conditions seems above average for the age. Tin is good, seems to run fine at any RPM, appears to have no leaks, loader seems fine and fairly heavy duty. Only issue is what appears to be the clutch. They say that it was ok when parked in the barn, about 6 weeks later could not get in gear. I tried and when I finally got it to go into a gear (reverse) with the clutch in, we started backwards. Whats the value in this condition?

You may not even need a new clutch- the disc may just be stuck to the flywheel. You can get them "unstuck" by removing the starter and working through the hole (at least on some models).
