I'm thinking about putting a cab on my 2255. Currently has rops canopy. As my main tractor I have to operate it in bad conditions more than I like any more. Any one install a 2-105 or 2-135 cab on a oliver 55 series? If so how did it turn out. What color did you paint it and does it look out of place on the tractor? I need to keep my tires set for 30" rows so a factory cab is unlikly to work. Thanks

My 2255 came from the Factory with a White 3 sided cab. It is my understanding it it a 2-150 cab as these tractors had the same rear end. I certainly could move my wheels in far enough for 30" rows. I too have seen others that had a White cab added, most are green with Clover White tops, mine is Clover White. I have been told an easy way to figure if it came from the factory with that cab is where the fuel tank is located, I don't know if this true is or not. I do know this is one unique tractor I have and will try and get a picture on here if I can get to it in the building..... Marc

Adam,

My 2255 with factory cab has the fender fuel tanks integral with the cab. Tractor has 18.4R38 radials on it set on 60" center-to-center for 30" rows. There is not a great deal of clearance between the tire and fuel tank for mud, but it does fit. I rather have the idea that I'd like to make mine into an open station tractor with fender tanks. I am hoping to get a chance to look around for the open station parts and fender tanks this winter. If I'm successful, I probably won't keep the cab, even though it is in nice shape and has heat and A/C. I'll keep you in mind if I need a place to go with it.

If you want fender tanks send me a e-mail. There are 3 or 4 sets around here that need a home befor they get scraped. If you see any good 4-180 whites for sale out your way let me know. If I can find a good reasonably priced 4-180 close, I would leave my 2255 the way it is. I really don't have enuff tracton or power in the 2255. New radial tires would solve that, but then the cost is near that of a 4-180 which would have more of both and a cab. Thanks

How about a 4-210? You'd have the later version (red stripe with WFE badging), with inboard planetaries, and Over/Under, not to mention stronger articulation joint, two steering cylinders, and a newer version of the 3208. I have access to one that is a later model. I'll send you an email with the details to see if you'd be interested.

Hey Adam, I would look for one from a 2-105 or 2-150. The 2-135, 155 has the gear shift mounted on the side console and the cab mounts may be different since the transmission/rear-end is not the same. Just a couple things to think about. WB.

I have seen White model cabs on the 2255s before and I dont think it is too bad of a conversion. Most I have seen painted the cab white or a comination of white and green.

I know Farmersville Equipment has a few cabs and I know Wengers has one also. If you decide you want a cab let me know and I will hook you up with them.

I got dibs on your canopy when you change to the cab!!!!! :-)

NO FAIR!!!!! !!!!! !! Can we atleast flip a coin? Some time I plan to start gathering parts and components to make our 1755 into a cummins hybrid w/ a canopy and fuel tank fenders.

What do you call a 1755, which has an 1850 tub & bell housing, an 1855 rear end, a cummins 5.9 and the only 1755 parts left are the front axel, the sheetmetal(doubtfull) and the dash??

I'm thinking 1785-C

Sorry the canopy is not for sale. I would put it in storage in case I would want to convert back. Last spring when I had the tractor painted. The metal shop made part of a new top for me. The original had rusted out in one spot and then I bent it with the 3pt forklift. Not all that expensive to make but the hard part is the roll bar as the posts taper.
