I am thinking of setting up my loader to a power beyond set-up. I have read the archived posts on this and still not sure where the return line from my loader valve should go. Does it go to the port about 1 inch under the restrictor or does it go to the 1/2 inch port farther back and higher up on the rear of the left side. This second hole is as far back and as high as you can go on the left side. Thanks for al of your help.

I have been thinking about this most of the morning while doing simple tasks. Is your loader valve set up for power beyond? If you have a power beyond adapter (plug) in your valve then you will need to run that hose to the cover as mentioned by Dean. Your drain line from the valve will need to plumb into the lower port on the reservoir. This will allow you to let the loader down while still providing hydraulics to the rest of the tractor other wise you may split the valve. By the way, what valve do you have Cross Prince or Gresen? Just thinking for right now.

Right now I don't have a valve, I was just reading the posts about this and seems like a better way to hook up the loader. If I don't get a valve with a power beyond port, will the rest of the hydraulics on the tractor not work with the loader hooked up?

Let me sleep on that tonight. Too many other things on my mind for tonight and maybe tomorrow. Find me on the hpoca site, send me a P. M. with a phone number and it might be simpler for us both. Around here probaly less than 2% of the tractors like that had a loader so I really need to scratch my brain. I have more experience with power beyond applications on municipal dump trucks. Questions?

In the search window of this section, type in 1655 Power Beyond. Go to items 39 and 41 on the second page. It looks like you should use the port labeled the bypass port in the picture. BA Starr explains it quite well. Sounds like you route the oil thru your loader valve and then back into the hydraulic system so everything else works. The bottom hole must be used only for a drain as it goes right back into the reservoir. Hope this clears things up for you.
