OK guys, to "drop" a Cummins 5.9 into a stock Ol 1800 w/f with Hydra power - what is required? What original stuff will bolt on? Ol Clutch housing etc? Mounts to fabricate? Radiator/fan? Sheet metal? Fuel tank? I have the tractor with leaky head/power loss, also have a truck - wrecked - with a 5.9 - running - help a guy out, pics? Website? parts required/avail? Front end take weight? Transmission etc. take added power? Thanks for your time, I know this subject was touched on a few days ago, but need more info! Allan.

I think you may need to install a over/under hydra shift inplace of the hydra power, someone else doing this same project asked a few days ago, apparently the shafts are different lenths or something. I"m not completely sure of all the details, but it should be down a little bit or maybe on the next page. Like ANON said, you need a tub from an 1850 perkins if you can find one, otherwise you"ll have to knock out the current mounts and make some new ones. Shep VA would be a good guy to ask about this.... He"s done an 1850 and 55, as well as a 1655. I have been watching these posts on cummins conversions, I have a 1755 sitting with a bad engine and an 1855 rear end on it. I"ve been looking on ebay to see what engines would go for, an industrial one is up for sale right now at 3,000 buy it now. It"s relisted atleast once now, starting bid is $2,750.

If you look back thru these posts you should find what your looking for. This has been a HOT topic for quite a while. From what I remember, you will need a 1850 belly pan, bell and flywheel from a 100/120 White, and they recommed the 5.9 power unit and not the on road version. Search on ShepVA-he's the one that seems to have done the most. I think he mentioned a cost of around $8000 to $11,000 to do the job.
